rise and shine. \(=o-)/ thats the weather every morning currently. it is very bright and hot until midday. then came d dark cloud and thunder. like a constipated sound made in the toilet. going to rain or not going to rain. the whole scene is like a bad B grade horror movie. i sprained my ankle the other day. but now OK already. blessed Ammeltz yoko yoko. i wonder if i can die from eating too much peanut butter. i started drinking krating daeng instead of coffee. i'd should probably get insulin too just incase. my life is so banal...

random post no... i forgot...

yesterday Mel and i went to midvalley to catch the euro film fest. but alas... the queue at the cinema was super looooong. so we decided to just loiter around and go to the bookstore. anyway, theres this asian network of major cities 21 exhibition and cultural events going on at the other side of the building. there were Seoul, Taipei, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo booths. we continued by taking all the freebies and ate the free food offered. the Korean were performing a super awesome drum hitting? it was like a clash between modern drum and traditional. they even use this huge ice cube as musical instrument. they are full of vigor and energy. so hard to take pictures...

the Tokyo booth was the most awesome of all. this lady is performing "kamikiri" (paper cutting entertainment, the performer cuts out elaborate silhouette of figures using only scissor and a sheet of paper)

doraemon! haha!

we went home with the awesome paper cutting. Mel got the tiger and i got a cool black beetle. yatta!

Movie review

I watched three movies this week. Two are awesome and one is anything but awesome.

1)Jeux d'enfants (Love me if you dare) 2003 directed by Yann Samuell
this movie is on Youtube, go and watch it if you dare. i kid i kid. this movie is about two people that love each other truly madly deeply ala "savage garden" song. Sophie and Julien played a dare game which often lands them into trouble. they carry on the game until they grew up and were forced to stop the game. from the beginning of the movie we know that they belong to each other. but since you have to fill in 80 minutes of the film, the writer decided to make the love more complicated. they both ended up marrying the persons they do not love and be miserable. like a yo yo, they cant function properly without the other. so in the end they decided to play the last and ultimate dare. cementing themselves in a concrete block. this is film is so full of angst and edgy. i like it. not cheesy and spewing rainbows at all. a lot of the scenes are endearing and sweet. the transition from childhood to adult is nicely done. its playful and dreamlike for the first half and the other half are darker and depressing. the song la vie en rose was played through out the movie...Marion won Oscar 4 years latter for portraying Edith Piaf. i'm going to download the song now...

2) Låt den rätte komma in (Let the right one in) 2008 directed by Tomas Alfredson
this movie is about 12 years old Oskar who was bullied in his school. he found comfort from Eli, who turns out to be a vampire. i watch this movie courtesy from Mel. thank you mel chan! i brand this movie as "THE BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE ever!!!" this is also another love story but the love is in an unadulterated form. the portrayal of a vampire is more realistic and not cheesy at all. in fact, it is downright bloody. the vampire in this movie is more realistic unlike other more glamorous vampire like in Blade or Buffy. the extent of loneliness and desperation a vampire had to go through in order to survive are shown in this movie. life aint easy for a vampire yo! overall, i have no negative thing to say about this movie. its bloody amazing and beautiful. the CGI are not exaggerated and the scenery is so nuance and beautiful it looks almost like a photograph.

3) Wanted 2008 directed by Timur Bekmambetov
My house mate lent me the DVD and boy... i'm glad i didnt watch it in cinema. after watching the first 10 minutes i want to shout WTF?!!!! i dont know where to begin... this movie is total BS! over the top and take ridiculousness to PhD level! the characters contradict themselves. kill one and save thousands my ass. they should all kill themselves because not only they are hypocrites and hazardous to unarmed civilians, which THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT! take for example the train scene. WTF?!!!! hundreds of innocent people died while our hero can escape with only a few scrape and bruise? i hate this kind of hero. selfish and contradictory. and yeah, the level of ridiculousness is sky high. i should check my underwear and napkin for hidden message! maybe the message will read "Made in China". plus why recruit Wesly while Fox can not only bend a bullet, but fcking made it goes 360˚!!!? heh! the saving grace for this movie came from the actors (Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy).

three wise monkey

okay.. maybe not so wise...
